Not to be negative, Mitch, but hammering on junk wedges is an easy way to get hurt. I would emphasize using strong hardwood wedges, nothing pithy or bad.
Very awesome demo. I Like the fact that even with all your knowledge and experience you still are willing to take an elders advice n can tell you have alot of respect for Gary. Im not a big axe guy.. im more machete, cant do that with a machete though hahah least not to my knowledge
Cracking video, this one might be the big break you're looking for, it's a cut above the rest…. Better stop before I crack up 😂 My sides are splitting 🤣😂🤣
Very useful video, is that the SFA ?
If that log was frozen it would have cracked like a first time offender
And I would probably cut a limb, 4-5" diameter, to use as a sledge, as opposed to the axe, for driving wedges.

Good work Guys!

Hey, great videos. Could you make a tutorial on how to change the handle of an axe?
This was well explained. Thanks to you now I have some knowledge in this.
The suspense was killing me. And when it did split it was anticlimactic! Great vid!
That looks tiring. Do you have any Sasquatch sighting stories?
Good to see I'm not the only one who loves that cracking sound trees make.
