THANK YOU FOR LEAVING ME A COMMENT 👽👍🏻
Don't be too downhearted Ben, better to be safe than sorry, that tree is in a pretty precarious position, your shelter was built well to withstand the battering that area took, take stock and go again, shame I live on the south coast as id offer to give you a hand at re-building.
I saw some of the devastation from storm Arwen. I’m amazed your shelter is in such good nick. Big up your build skillz 👊🏼 And your little wooden cup was still hangin in there 🙂 You defo need to move the shelter though. That tree’s gonna go at some point. Upside… you don’t have to chop the lengths of wood again. You’ve got most of the bits you need. 👍🏼
Don't feel bad Ben, you're not the only one with that kind of luck
Sorry about the shelter but congrats on your success! Those are some very big time shows man.
Looks like the recent storm has presented you with a lot of natural camouflage. Take advantage of it if you can, using the materials you already cut. It’s a common bow hunters trick to use downed trees to blend into. Maybe you can do a little of the same with a new shelter?
Great video
Can you imagine if you had been IN the shelter during the storm?! 😬 That would have been SCARY!
Ben I think you have got 1 off the BEST CHANNELS on YOUTUBE 👍🏴
Ah, that's a disappointment. But you're wise deciding to move the shelter. Next time… IT WILL BE BETTER. 😉
😢😢😢😢
I'm sorry that your first build wasn't a full success due to weather conditions. Hopefully lessons learned. Move location and make a new improved shelter. Great content pal.
Earthquake one week…. storm the next….. the next shelter will be just as epic! Keep it real 🤜🤛
To quote a well known philosopher.
It happens.-
Forrest Gump.
Sorry for that…..keep punching ✌👽
Hey Ben at 7:10 there is something that sounds like a roar keep safe out thete
It’s great to see you back at the bushcraft stuff!!! That’s how I originally found your channel. The UFO, wild man, cryptid and paranormal discussions are a great bonus!! Love the mix of the two!! Keep it up Ben!!!
The Almighty decided you needed to relocate. Look at it as a positive. You will now relocate to the place you needed to be all along.
You can reuse all the limbs you already cut. Or you can cut down the tree that fell.
whatever you choose….I'll flollow your journey mate.
Gutted for you mate but glad it could have been much worse at least. Hope you manage to get it finished without any more setbacks.
Btw what was that shouting at 8:00? 👽
Gutted, the shelter can be shored up, but, unfortunately it’s location is no longer safe. A setback yes; but with determination you’ll find a better location. No way you could have predicted the way that big tree would fall, but it didn’t fall on the shelter. Plenty of building material lying around though Ben. Stay safe. Rog. 🤞🏻👍
So sorry about the shelter, the next one will be bigger and better, I'm sure. Was there other people out and about near you? Definitely heard a male shout around the 8 min mark
Sorry about the shelter mate, i'm gutted for you, i also know you will pick yourself up and build it better and stronger than before 👍
Sorry to here about the shelter man. Ain't life funny like that? An entire forest, yet the place where you set up camp, a tree just had to be uprooted there.
Well, just build the camp2.0 better, sturdier and stronger next time around.
I once built a shelter using a very large root ball of a tree pushed over by high winds. Something to consider. It sure would blend in better. It is hard to judge size on video though.
I lined the underside of the ball with a waterproof tarp and cribbed it with small timbers similar to how your original shelter was built. My shelter lasted decades. However, it was also located on my own private land. I am sure the fact that you are building on land you do not own will play a large part in where you choose to build next.
Better to be safe than sorry Ben. It's a bloody shame, but it would be terrible to have the fallen tree come down on one of you at a later date. Take care, 🙂
Never mind m8 survived an earthquake and a massive storm the only thing nature didn't throw at you was a flood 😄 chin up m8 and Howard Hughes is massive isn't he if I'm thinking right is he American shock jock
You're still standing Ben, thats the main thing. Look forward to the rebuild and where destiny takes you next. And it will…. all the best mate
Shit happens Ben. Just build back elsewhere and start afresh. Superb video mate and what an amazing area it is out there. So glad that you are getting on the radio and other media platforms talking all thought provoking topics. Onwards and Upwards Ben. 🌲🌲🚶♂️🐕🌲🌲👍
